Two years ago I was a successful school-teacher with a responsible job at a large and well-respected school. I'd risen through the ranks as-it-were, to become Assistant Headmaster, spending more than half my time in an office rather than a classroom.
For almost twenty years I'd done a job I enjoyed. And now, suddenly I was beginning to wonder what I was doing. The paperwork and meetings, the government initiatives and directives, the endless admin. weren't why I'd gone into teaching. I began thinking about downshifting. Then my son was born.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
I'm now a successful parent-blogger, author and educational consultant. Oh, and a stay-at-home dad. That's my job. I don't get paid for doing it, but the rewards are far greater than the salary I could be earning and I'm richer than I've ever been before.
